From the big cities, you can get to one of the four national parks and other nature reserves in no time. Wherever you are in North Brabant, the countryside is always close by!

The Loon and Drunen Dunes National Park is one of the largest sand drift areas in Western Europe with 30 square kilometres of drifting sand. You can play in the sand, take lovely walks or bike rides enjoy the vast forests and heathlands in this national park.

De Biesbosch National Park is the largest freshwater tidal wetland in Europe, and it is a maze of rivers, creeks and little islands. The best way to explore this National Park is on the water. Hire a whisper boat, grab a canoe, hire a sloop or go on a boat tour.

The beautiful De Groote Peel National Park is on the border with Limburg. This varied area with impenetrable peatlands, vast plains, picturesque fens and impressive sand ridges is a genuine paradise for nature lovers.
Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide (cross-border park) is on either side of the Dutch-Belgium border and consists of heathlands, fens, forests, polders and inland dunes. Rare plants grow here, and exceptional bird species feel at home here.
There are reminders of the Second World War throughout North Brabant. Cycle or walk one of the Liberation Route Brabant stages, created in collaboration with Brabant Herinnert. Go past places such as Camp Vught National Memorial and De Kiek mock airfield, discover what the war meant for the Brabant population and learn more about the liberation.


Camp Vught National Memorial is located on the former site of the only SS concentration camp in the Netherlands. Visit the museum exhibitions, walk over the former camp grounds and discover stories from the past.

Overloon War Museum is the largest war museum of the Netherlands. You learn all about the Second World War in this museum and a large part of the collection was actually used during the Battle of Overloon. You can also cycle through the museum on the cycle bridge.

Wings of Liberty tells the story of the Second World War in North Brabant and the liberation of the south of the Netherlands. The museum is located on the spot where Operation Market Garden took place.

Nationaal Park De Loonse en Drunense Duinen is één van de grootste stuifzand-gebieden van West-Europa met dertig vierkante kilometer stuifzand. In het nationaal park kun je ravotten in het zand, heerlijk wandelen en fietsen, genieten van de uitgestrekte bossen en heidevelden.
